I think it’s a great symbolism of commitment for couples across the world and it seems to be becoming more popular everywhere we go; even a little town in the Peak District we visited over Easter had love padlocks on a bridge over the river. 🙂

Thanks for your comments – it would seem that the locks are definitely causing a few problems for the council. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few years. I commented on another blog just yesterday saying that its a shame, people add their locks only to have them cut off after a year or two and they highlighted that at least the keys will forever be at the bottom of the river – which I think is still quite a romantic notion!

I love Paris and I can understand why these love locks are popping up in Paris – it is the city of romance after all. However, I didn’t know about the safety concerns because of the locks on the bridge. Thanks for sharing about people’s perspectives about the locks!
